The kiwi is the fruit of a plant that is native to China. Kiwi is currently cultivated in many countries such as Italy, New-Zealand, the United States, Chile and Japan.
This small fruit, unknown in North America until the twentieth century, is very high in fibre. It also contains antioxidants, many vitamins and minerals. Its regular consumption helps prevent cardiovascular disease and certain cancers. It is a low-calorie fruit.
It can often be found dried in trail mix blends. It can also be served in teas or eaten as-is for a snack.
