Processed Almonds

DESCRIPTION

The almond is a nut that looks like an immature green peach. The almond is an oval, oleaginous seed with pale flesh that is crunchy and mild.

The almond is recognized for its large quantity of phytosterols and proteins. It is also rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Many types of almonds can be found in the marketplace. Almonds that have been roasted in oil are richer in fat than dry-roasted almonds or dried almonds. They are consumed as is, in desserts or added to a meal. Ground almonds are commonly used in desserts when added as a flour substitute.
